My Truefitt & Hill Traditional Hot Towel Wet Shave experience - shm - 27-08-2011
Returning from my first trip to London with only one thing on the agenda - shaving gear, I can say, that it is a heaven for traditional shaving and fragrance shops.
During my stay I also experienced a traditional shave at Truefitt & Hill, and would like to share that experience with you Gentlemen, and just say, that if you get the opportunity to go to London I will really recommend you to have a shave.
Unfortunately I can only do it in English.
Al regresar de mi primer viaje a Londres con una sola cosa en la agenda - equipo de afeitar, lo que puedo decir, que es un paraíso para el afeitado tradicionales y tiendas de perfume.
Durante mi estancia, también experimentó un tradicional afeitado en Truefitt y Hill, y me gustaría compartir esta experiencia con ustedes, señores, y acaba de decir, que si le da la oportunidad de ir a Londres, realmente le recomendamos tener un afeitado.
Por desgracia, sólo se puede hacer en Inglés.

Just out of curiosity: Did the barber use a disposable blade straight razor? Did she lather up using a T&H shaving cream bowl (or soap), or did she use one of those lather dispensers? I think the latter happens probably more often in the USA.
Now I feel upset with myself... having been in London an particularly around the Piccadilly Circus area in 2009, I should have visited the T&H premises. Shame on me!
Well, now that I know how these people work, I must book a shave at T&H next time I go to London. Hope that Julie will still be working there.

Sólo por curiosidad: ¿Usó la barbera una navaja de cuchillas desechables? ¿Hizo la espuma con un bote de crema/jabón de afeitar de T&H, o utilizó uno de esos dispensadores de espuma? Creo que lo último sucede más habitualmente en los EEUU.
Ahora me siento disgustado conmigo mismo... habiendo estado en Londres y por la zona de Piccadilly Circus en 2009, tendría que haber visitado las instalaciones de T&H. ¡Me avergí¼enzo de mí mismo!
Bueno, ahora que sé cómo trabaja esta gente, tengo que reservar hora para un afeitadoen T&H la próxima vez que vuelva a Londres. Espero que Julie siga trabajando allí.

She used a disposable (shavette type). I don't think you can find many places where they use a real straight any more due to sterilisation and the maintenance of the blade/edge, it is so much easier just to use a new blade every time.
I was all wrapped up in the towel when she prepared the lather, so I don't know what she was using, but my guess would be the T&H Sandalwood cream or maybe the Ultimate Comfort cream.
I was so enjoying it all that I forgot to keep an eye on the details :facepalm:

I thought this was over, but a little curl has occurred to the story.
I am of the opinion that if I think I have a rightful reason to complain, I do.
But I also think that if I have experienced something really good, that should be commented as well, if everything is negative we end up like grumpy old men/women.
So I wrote an email to Truefitt & Hill and expressed my gratitude for a nice experience, and received a kind thank you email in return. End of story I thought, but no.
The Danish agent for Truefitt & Hill learned about the email, and asked me for permission to use it on their blog. I had no objection with that, and informed them about my more detailed review above and said they could use that instead/as well if they would like to.
I think Truefitt & Hill liked the review, but it seems that Julie (my barber) is particular happy about it, and that I now have a small plus beside my name in Julie's book (that can't be a bad thing).
And because the Danish Truefitt & Hill agent can use my review they are sending me a T&H Freshman cologne free of charge :thumbsup:
This is a win-win situation, all parties involved are happy, a true happy ending :Cheers:
Pensé que esto había terminado, pero un poco enrollamiento se ha agregado a la historia.
Soy de la opinión que si me pienso tenga una razón legítima para quejarse, yo hago. Pero también pienso que si he experimentado algo realmente bueno que se debe comentar también, si todo es siempre negativo terminamos para arriba como viejos hombres/mujeres gruñones.
Escribí tan un email al Truefitt & Hill; y expresado mi gratitud para una experiencia agradable, y recibido un email de agradecimiento a cambio. Final del pensamiento de la historia I, pero No.
El agente danés para el Truefitt &Hill aprendió sobre el email, y pedido me permiso para utilizarlo en su blog. No tenía ninguna objeción con eso, e informado les sobre mi revisión más detallada y dicho podrían utilizar eso en lugar de otro/también si quisieran.
Pienso el Truefitt & Hill tuvo gusto de la revisión pero parece que Julia (mi peluquero) es feliz particular sobre ella, y que ahora tengo un pequeño más al lado de mi nombre en Julie's libro (que no puede ser algo malo).
Y porque el danés de Truefitt & Hill agente puede utilizar mi revisión que me están enviando un cologne gratuitamente :thumbsup:
Esto es un situación de ganancia para todos, todos los partidos implicados es feliz; una conclusión feliz verdadera :Cheers:
