Rudy Vey Beehive with Shavemac Knot
#1

I have been admiring Rudy Vey's work for awhile and finally decided to order one of his brushes. I decided to go with the Beehive style handle in faux ivory and a Shavemac D01 knot with a 22mm diameter and a 48mm loft. I opted for a fan shaped knot over a bulb shaped knot.

The brush arrived yesterday afternoon and I plan to use it for this morning's shave. I am attaching a few pictures pre-bloom and will report back once I have used it a few times.

The brush is an absolute beauty and my experience with Rudy could not have been better. His communication was excellent and he sent photos of the handle and the knot for my approval prior to making the brush.

I used the brush for this morning's shave and was very impressed. The Flow through was excellent and the tips very soft with enough backbone to lather soaps with ease. Here are a few pictures post bloom.

Wow Phil!Rudy have done a great job with that handle and the shavemac hair looks gorgeous!Does it works better with creams or soaps?

I have only used it with soaps so far but it should work equally well with soaps and creams. It is a short lofted brush (48mm) but is not overly stiff and has excellent flow through. It holds a lot of lather but gives it up easily as well. It is a definite keeper!

You are spot on when you mention Rudy is known as much for his craftsmanship and his customer service. He is first rate in both aspects!
